When I heard “Window”, it felt so familiar. IThe first line has us peering into someone’s window, which reminds me of taking a walk at dusk magic hour, when folks still have their curtains open and we can see the contents of their lives. This drew me in. The vocal melody dives like swifts. The lyrics are so beautiful and simple, like a child’s rhyme, and right to the core of the matter, which is hard for me to say in words, but is painted so clearly in this song. You can’t get more real than bumble bees and trees! The last line “running through the garden of our lives” goes through my mind all the time now as a sort of daily mantra for living. There are many KRS bands that have been the soundtrack to various parts of my life, and bands that I’ve been a part of, and it was hard to decide what to cover because the catalog is rich with so much great music, but this lovely song by the great Mary Timony just pulled me into its’ jewel box world
