I first listened through this a couple years ago, and I don't know why I hadn't bought it until now. Regardless, I think everyone should listen through this in its entirety at least once, the best way I can describe it is beautifully haunting. While Fantasy Empire was dare I say it catchy, Citadel is a relentless fuckin pummelling; A lot of this album (particularly Air Conditioning) feels like a demented riff on golden-era Anthrax, while Husker Don't (fuck yeah whichever Brian named that) may be the best reproduction of the live Lightning Bolt experience I've ever heard, with waves of full sensory shutdown just smashing into you repeatedly like bodies in the pit..; basically this album gave me tinnitus and PTSD and I'm not mad. Me and my friend used to go on drives all the time, and a lot of the time i asked what he was playing, and a majority of the songs were from Yo La Tengo.
